Yard standards

Mite protocol we actually run

Wooden beehives arranged in an outdoor apiary

Sampling rhythm. Midweek washes catch what weekend-only demos miss. We log bee source, weather, and nectar status beside every count so the spreadsheet still makes sense in October.

Decision windows. When rolling averages cross our spring threshold, we execute the plan we wrote in winter—supers come off, entrances shrink, treatments follow label law. We do not promise outcomes on hives we do not service.

Teaching boundary. Yard guests see one supervised wash per season. We explain tools; we do not prescribe products for bees you manage at home—bring questions to your mentor or extension office.
